1. More Than 80% of Enterprises Will Use AI by 2026

Gartner recently released a report highlighting that AI adoption by the C-suite has become a top priority.

They are projecting that by 2026, 80% of enterprises will be using some form of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) within their organizations.

This is up from less than 5% in 2023.

Here’s the link to the full article.

What does this mean for leaders?

Take a moment to think about the rate of acceleration in the AI space. From less than 5% in 2023 to over 80% in 2026. That’s breakneck speed.

So if you’re not thinking about adopting AI within your team or organization today, start!

2. Walmart Focusing on Ethical AI

Walmart announced that they are setting the bar for ethical AI through their “Walmart Responsible AI Pledge” centered around six commitments.

Here’s a screenshot of those 6 commitments (from their announcement published here):

In addition to Walmart, New York City’s mayor also outlined a plan for responsible AI use in the NYC government.

I expect that other corporations and government agencies will be doing this soon.

What does this mean for leaders?

A major concern for stakeholders (including customers and employees) is about trust and comfort with AI.

Although AI risks are not well-documented or known (there are many “unknown unknowns” in this space), Walmart and NYC are doing the right thing by thinking ahead about those concerns as they leverage AI.

Other leaders who are using AI in business should also think about establishing clear ethical guidelines in AI applications within their own organizations to keep stakeholder trust high.
