1. AI Helps Discover New Class of Antibiotics

Researchers have used artificial intelligence to discover a new class of antibiotics effective against drug-resistant bacteria.

The AI models developed at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard analyze chemical structures to predict antibiotic activity and potential human cell toxicity.

What does this mean for leaders?

The main takeaway is that business leaders in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries should probably start investing in AI technologies to enhance research and development, particularly in drug discovery.

And for leaders who are not in the pharma/ biotech space, it’s a good idea to think about leveraging AI to analyze vast amounts of data for any R&D-related bottlenecks.
