1. How to Think about ROI for AI (a CFO’s surprising perspective)
Florian Zirnstein, Bayer Indonesia’s CFO, is focusing on driving the use of gen AI at his organization.
He implemented three AI use cases (sales training for new products, AI as a decision-making partner, and AI as a consultant for finance-related tasks).
What stands out is how he approaches ROI (Return on Investment) for these AI initiatives.
The following article by Section School goes in depth about his thought process, but what was surprising was that his success criteria were more subjective than objective (especially as CFO).
Here’s a snippet from the article that highlights his approach.

You can read the full article here.

2. How to Fact Check Information Quickly
I recently saw the following tweet about a snippet from an old MIT Technology Review article.
I’ve seen this before, and I knew it was fake, but wanted to see if AI can speed up researching things for me.
So here’s what I asked in ChatGPT and the response I got.

It also gave me a link to the original article with the correct headline (which you can find here).
The takeaway
A great use case for ChatGPT is to:
1) Take a screenshot of something that looks fishy
2) Upload it to ChatGPT
3) Ask “Is this true or fake?”
4) Get an answer with links for verification
