1. How to Turn Any Business Report into a Podcast in 3 Minutes with NotebookLM

NotebookLM is a tool developed by Google that acts as a personal AI research assistant for your documents.

It has a few features that are quite impressive, but one that stands out is that you can create a “Podcast” of any report (or collection of reports).

In other words, it can summarize the main topics of your reports and create a conversation between two AI-generated people who talk about the contents in a casual way.

What’s the use of that in business?

Other than it’s fun, it makes consuming information more digestible.

Not only do you get a time-saving summary of the main takeaways of your reports, but you also get to listen to (potentially boring) takeaways while you’re on the go.

You can also download the audio file and share it with your team.

Here’s how you can turn any business report into a podcast in 3 minutes:

1) Go to https://notebooklm.google/ and click on “Try NotebookLM

2) Then click on “Create

3) Then upload a file and click on “Generate” (under Audio Overview)

4) After a few minutes, you’ll get an AI-generated podcast summary of your book that you can listen to and download.

a

That’s pretty much it!

I just tried it with my book, “Influencing Virtual Teams” and the results are impressive. I shared the file publicly here if you’d like to check out how it sounds.

2. Three Takeaways from Sam Altman’s article: The Intelligence Age

Sam Altman wrote an article last week called “The Intelligence Age,” and I think it’s worth reading.

Here are three quotes from the article that I thought were intriguing.

1) On when we might get superintelligence (i.e. a system that is vastly more intelligent than the best human minds in practically every field)

“It is possible that we will have superintelligence in a few thousand days (!); it may take longer, but I’m confident we’ll get there.”

2) On the importance of driving costs down to democratize AI

“If we want to put AI into the hands of as many people as possible, we need to drive down the cost of compute and make it abundant (which requires lots of energy and chips). If we don’t build enough infrastructure, AI will be a very limited resource that wars get fought over and that becomes mostly a tool for rich people.”

3) On the fact that it’s okay that jobs will evolve

“Many of the jobs we do today would have looked like trifling wastes of time to people a few hundred years ago, but nobody is looking back at the past, wishing they were a lamplighter.”
